Several farmers will have local molasses this weekend which comes from the sorghum shown here.
Watauga County Farmers' Market will be open for one more regular market this year. There will be plenty of fresh local produce, eggs, meats, a fine selection of specialty foods, wreathes and great art and crafts. The supply of local apples is holding up and of course you will need a pumpkin for decor and pies. Remember you can also find the best in the area at our holiday market on the Saturdays before and after Thanksgiving.

Cheryl continues to amaze us every week with her exotic flavors of jellies and also her biscotti.
This Saturday Sunshine Cove will have microgreens,arugula, ovation and elegance salad mix. Zydeco Moon Organic Farm will have broccoli, lettuce, butternut, acorn and delicata squash and arugula.
The Pasta Wench will be offering holiday gift baskets and gift certificates for use all year round. If you need pasta over the winter you can call 828.262.1040 and the Wench will be sure to get you some. Check out her new Pierogies and the Vegan Mediterranean Spinach, or pick up some Pan Seared Apple with Brie for your holiday entertaining.
Tom Wooten of Fiddler Forge returns this week with elegant handforged iron creations for garden lovers. His unique hanging planters and birdfeeders are made using mixed metals of solid steel and bronze, forged in fire using traditional blacksmithing techniques. He has a variety of both ornate and functional designs and sizes to choose from, as well as wall or ceiling brackets to hang them from.
